Petros Petrou

“Look after your mind and body. Find your way back to movement, and keep moving towards what matters.”

Petros Petrou is a musculoskeletal physiotherapist in residence at Atelier108. He practises as a First Contact Practitioner, assessing and treating patients directly as well as on referral from GPs and consultants, with clinical experience spanning the NHS and private practice across Europe.

His work is informed by a strong interest in biomechanics and the relationship between movement, injury and physical performance. A background in competitive football first drew him towards physiotherapy and manual therapy, while injury prevention remains a particular area of interest, explored through his undergraduate research into elite football.

Petros brings together clinical knowledge, practical experience and an understanding of the physical demands of everyday life and sport, with an emphasis on helping people regain and develop their capacity for movement.

Areas of Practice

  • Musculoskeletal conditions — muscle, joint, neck and back pain
  • Sports injury — assessment, rehabilitation and return to training
  • Persistent and chronic pain — long-standing or recurring pain conditions
  • TMJ dysfunction — jaw pain and associated headache
  • Postural and desk-related pain — the imbalances that develop through sedentary work

Approach to Treatment

Petros begins with a thorough assessment, exploring how you move, your activity history and the factors that may be contributing to your symptoms.

Treatment combines hands-on techniques with exercises you can continue between sessions, allowing progress to extend beyond the time spent in the studio. The approach is guided by your individual presentation and how your body responds.

Recovery goals are established together, with treatment directed towards returning you to the activities that matter to you — whether sport, training or simply moving through the day with greater ease and confidence.

  • Assessment — movement, posture and the pattern behind the symptom
  • Manual therapy — hands-on work with joints and soft tissue
  • Myofascial manual therapy
  • Progressive exercise and rehabilitation programmes
  • Taping
  • Postural and ergonomic guidance
  • Therapeutic ultrasound
